When Amanda first emailed me, she excitedly noted that she was “marrying her high school sweetheart,” Kevin. During our shoot, Kevin retold their love story with more details explaining that Amanda caught his eye when they were both only 14 years old participating in a bowling competition. He friend requested her on Facebook and they ended up competing in the same bowling team another year later and have been inseparable ever since.
But YALL. Their PROPOSAL story!! This past August they took a dinner cruise on a sailboat with some friends and family. As they sailed along the Chesapeake towards a little alcove, the captain cooked them a three course meal. After dinner, Kevin took Amanda to the back of the ship and shared a song that he had been writing her for the past two years. Once they had finished listening, he got down on one knee and proposed. And that’s not where it ended!! After they got ENGAGED he took her to a hotel room decorated with rose petals, candles, a MASSAGE table, and everything else romantic to top off the already enchanting weekend. When I exclaimed how amazing that weekend sounded, Kevin said “it was seven years in the making” and that he had been dreaming up ways to propose to Amanda ever since they were seventeen. Isn’t that the sweetest?
I can’t wait to photograph them again on their wedding day this September! This wedding is a long time in the making, and their love for each other just radiates when they’re together.
