In love with this shoot! Ever since moving to Harrisonburg to attend JMU, I had been dyyyingg to do a shoot in Downtown Harrisonburg. I find the overlooked, rustic details characterizing the town so beautiful, especially since they greatly contrast the typical scenes I’m used to in NoVA. The outfits of this shoot revolved around a fall theme, and I am in LOVE with how they turned out!! Both Kayla and Emily are into fashion and had soo many great options. Both of them were also the sweetest!!
Before the shoot, I scoped out some location ideas. Downtown is an absolute GEM. This zebra wall was sooo friekin cool! One of my favorite spots here, and you wouldn’t even know it until you walked around to the back of some buildings near a parking lot.
We almost walked past this door, but it caught my eye last-minute, and I thought it would be kind of funny to shoot by it! The colors of the doors worked so well with their outfits and our fall theme 🙂
The light below was AMAZZINNGG! To a lot of people, this place could have looked like a dingy parking lot not worthy of our time. But honestly, as long as the LIGHT is good, the LOCATION can be good. It’s alllll about the light!!
On my way downtown before the shoot, this place caught my eye so I took a picture of it and made sure that we dropped by on our way back home!! I LOVE the overgrown plants and contrasting fall colors. Fall is so stunning.
The extsrpiee shines through. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
