Julia and Derek were such a fun couple to work with! Their laid back, fun energy radiated the entire day and made for one amazing night. Julia and Derek are both in the Army Reserve and met while being in the same unit. While they explained their love story, Julia expressed how Derek would always be goofing off and making everyone smile at their drill weekends. She went on to explain how two years into knowing each other, they were at a 3 week long training exercise that was absolutely horrible. It was 100+ degrees everyday, they were staying in tents with no electricity, had terrible food, and had to take a bus 40 minutes away a few times each week just to shower. Everyone was totally miserable except for Derek. Derek kept his goofy, upbeat attitude, playing pranks and organizing games for everyone. She went on to explain that in the military there is a saying, “embrace the suck,” which is exactly what Derek is great at. It was during those 3 weeks that Julia and Derek started to talk every day, and by the time they got home, they had started dating. Julia and Derek’s story is so sweet, so getting to be a part of their day as they finally got to tie the knot felt truly special!
